INDOOR SUPERTEAMS 2010 REPORT / MASTERS REPORT

Five excited teams of young athletes from Law & District AAC descended at the Kelvin Hall, Glasgow on Saturday 23rd January. This was the launch of the 1st Indoor U13's Superteams competition
in which teams of 4 athletes compete over 3 disciplines, 800m, long-jump and shot putt, concluding with a medlay relay of 2x200m/2x100m, points being awarded respectively to each athlete, together with their relay points.
Thirty one teams with a total of 116 enthusiastic young competitors put in some terrific performances, with Law's youngsters hoping to re-claim medals, which they had won in the first ever Superteams last May at Wishaw Sports Centre. Success did come to their girls' ‘A' team, better still this time winning Silver medals, with the boys' ‘A' team also having a great day by taking the Bronze medals. All of the young people from the club put in some real gutsy performances and are a credit to their coach, Lesley McNicol.
The Silver Medallists with 204 points were Pamela McNicol, Anya Towers, Christina Murray & Reagan Binnie, the Bronze Medallists, with 221 points, Evan Jones, Connor Thomson, Robert McGrath & Stephen Kelman. The Girls ‘B' team came 11th with 144 points, Emily McNicol, Heather Baird, Julie Bankier & Roxanne Montaghian, girls' ‘C' team 15th with 99 points, Claire Cartledge, Evie Robb, Hannah Cussick & Sarah Richardson and the boys' ‘B' team 7th with 163 points, Kieran Cubis, Richard Watson, Jack McAlroy & Lewis Donnelly.
The Scottish Masters Championships also took place at the Kelvin Hall on Sunday 24th January. Two of our senior members competed successfully, James MacDonald winning the M45 titles in both the 800m and 1500m, 2.08.33 & 4.30.77 minutes respectively, while Stephen Allen claimed the M40 800m title in 2.04.62 minutes.
